The Thai Tapioca Starch Association (TTSA) publishes a weekly reference price for Thai native tapioca starch. Here is where the market stands in mid-August 2026.
The reference numbers
As of 18 August 2026, the TTSA weekly published prices are:
| Reference | Price | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Export (F.O.B. Bangkok) | 705 USD/MT | Super premium grade, packed in 50 kg PP/PE bags |
| Domestic (Thailand) | 22.30 THB/kg | Including transport to Bangkok port; excluding packaging and VAT |
Both figures have held unchanged through the first three weekly readings of August (4, 11, and 18 August). Compared with late July, the market is slightly firmer: the 21 July reading was 700 USD/MT export and 22.15 THB/kg domestic — a rise of 5 USD/MT and 0.15 THB/kg.

How to read these prices
The TTSA reference describes the general Thai market for one benchmark grade. Prices for an actual shipment depend on the specification (SO₂ grade, viscosity, and other parameters), order volume, packaging format, and destination — which is why quotations are always confirmed per order. For the mechanics behind price movements — root supply, starch content, energy and freight — see our guide on what drives tapioca starch prices.
We keep the latest reference figures on our News & Prices page, and our export team provides firm quotations for your grade, volume, and destination through the inquiry form.
