Vietnamese fresh roots trade in dong per degree of starch. Converted at the 30% basis for comparison with Thailand:
| Area | VND/kg at 30% | THB/kg at 30% |
|---|---|---|
| Tay Ninh (incl. Cambodian roots) | 4,398-4,800 | 5.52-6.02 |
| Dak Lak (Phu Yen) | 3,849-3,900 | 4.83-4.89 |
| Quang Ngai (Kon Tum) | 3,798-3,900 | 4.77-4.89 |
Reference rate 1 THB is approximately 796.77 VND (25 Aug 2026). Against Korat at 3.60-4.80 THB/kg on the same basis, Vietnamese roots remain more expensive in every area with a published price.
The Vietnamese association also reported that Tay Ninh plants have changed how they sell: instead of signing contracts and then producing against them, they now take orders only once a certain volume is already in the warehouse.
